The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Recycling Yard Operator to join the team in Wendouree, Ballarat. This hands-on role will see you operating excavators and forklifts, moving materials and helping keep the yard running safely and efficiently. If you’re reliable, confident around heavy machinery and someone who gets stuck into the job, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate excavators to move, sort and load scrap materials.
- Operate forklifts to load, unload and transport materials around the yard.
- Assist with general yard duties, including manual sorting and material handling.
- Complete pre-start checks and report equipment faults.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area.
- Work with the team to support safe vehicle and machinery movements.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience operating excavators and forklifts.
- Previous recycling, scrap metal or industrial yard experience highly regarded.
- Strong safety awareness when working around heavy machinery.
- Ability to carry out manual handling and physical yard duties.
- A reliable, proactive approach and willingness to assist across the yard.
