Full-Time | Cranbourne West, VIC

About Us

Ziggy Lou is an Australian fashion label creating stylish, comfortable and practical clothing for the whole family. What started as a childrenswear brand has grown to include womenswear and menswear, and we're continuing to grow!

We're proud of the supportive, collaborative team we've built and our passion for creating beautiful, quality pieces that families love.

The Role

We're looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Technical Product Developer to join our growing Design & Production team!

If you love all things fashion, have a great eye for detail and enjoy bringing designs to life, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll work closely with our Design & Production team and offshore manufacturers to develop our collections from initial samples through to final production. From perfecting garment fits to refining construction and quality, you'll play an important role in making sure our products look and feel their best.

We're looking for someone who's hands-on, enjoys problem-solving and loves working as part of a collaborative team.

This is a full-time, office-based role in Cranbourne West, Victoria, with working hours of 7:00am–3:00pm, Monday to Friday. As a collaborative, hands-on position, we are not able to offer hybrid or work-from-home arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our Design & Production team to bring new collections to life, from initial sampling through to bulk production.

  • Create and maintain tech packs, garment specifications, measurement charts and grading requirements.

  • Conduct fit sessions, review samples and provide clear feedback on garment fit, construction and finishes.

  • Work directly with offshore manufacturers to refine samples, troubleshoot issues and ensure designs are production-ready.

  • Take ownership of quality control processes, working closely with our team and offshore manufacturers to maintain high standards across all collections.

  • Conduct sample assessments, wear trials and investigate quality concerns throughout development and bulk production, working with suppliers to identify solutions and implement improvements.

  • Coordinate garment, fabric and component testing with suppliers and external testing laboratories, reviewing results and following up on any issues.

  • Identify opportunities to improve garment fit, construction and overall product quality.

  • Collaborate with the wider team to keep development timelines on track and ensure our collections meet Ziggy Lou's standards.

About You

  • Ideally 3+ years of experience in fashion product development, garment technology or fashion design, with childrenswear experience highly regarded.

  • A qualification in fashion, textiles or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, fabrics and manufacturing processes.

  • Experience creating tech packs, managing samples and working with offshore manufacturers.

  • Confidence conducting fit sessions, assessing garment quality and resolving technical issues.

  • Experience in quality control, garment and fabric testing will be highly regarded, along with a willingness to further develop skills in these areas.

  • Knowledge of Australian, US and EU product safety regulations, particularly relating to childrenswear, is advantageous but not essential.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Excel.

  • Great attention to detail, strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • A positive, collaborative attitude and the confidence to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.

Why Join Ziggy Lou?

  • Generous staff discounts

  • A friendly, supportive and collaborative team

  • Opportunities to learn, grow and develop your skills

  • Be part of a growing Australian fashion label and see your work come to life
