Market Store Manager in Adelaide

Zerella Fresh is one of Australia’s largest grower and packers of Carrots, Onions and Potatoes supplying Australia’s leading supermarket chains plus independents and exports.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Market Store Manager to join our team on a full-time permanent basis at our Pooraka Market store located in Adelaide.

Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, the Market Store Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Zerella Market store meets both short and long-term profit and tonnage objectives through the advancement of existing and new markets, and product lines; underpinned by active daily sales negotiations.

Duties include

• Manage sales and supply to optimise Pye Group outcomes.
• Identify and develop new SKUs and packaging.
• Build relationships with internal and external suppliers and manage the quality of all incoming produce, including payment.
• Ensure all stock is rotated and managed to achieve quality requirements.
• Responsible for the effective management of all market store employees to include recruitment, performance management and employee development and training.
• Ensure that the store is clean, tidy and has an inspiring market presence.
• Perform customer deliveries and supplier pickups as required.
• Monitor debtors and ensure contracts are maintained within agreed terms.
• Optimally manage returnable packaging to ensure no losses and minimise cycle times.
• Implement and comply with all Pye Group policies and procedures including WHS, Quality & HR.
• Respond to varying external and internal environments and issues, such that the Pye Group’s performance is optimised and its market position and assets are protected.
• All other directions of management to achieve the company’s objectives.

Requirements

• Five - seven years experience in the same or similar role
• Fruit and vegetable sales and buying experience.
• Results focused with functional knowledge of industry processes.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong business acumen with well-developed problem-solving skills.
• Respect for others and pride in team’s performance.

Flexible work hours are required, in line with wholesale market operations.
