Sr. Visual COBOL Developer
Key Responsibilities
- Provide production support for enterprise applications, ensuring high availability and timely issue resolution.
- Manage and resolve production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes through problem management.
- Handle service requests in line with agreed service levels and operational procedures.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application and database issues.
- Collaborate with business users, technical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless application support.
- Monitor application performance and recommend improvements to enhance system stability and reliability.
- Participate in application maintenance, defect fixes, and minor enhancements.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and knowledge articles.
- Ensure adherence to ITIL processes and organizational support standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience in Visual COBOL development and support.
- Experience working with Enterprise Server.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Database.
- Proficiency in SQL/PLSQL.
- Experience with UNIX Shell Scripting.
- Hands-on experience in Incident Management, Problem Management, and Service Request Management.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in a production support environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
