Must Have Skills: 5+ years of experience in DNS operations/support, with at least 2–3 years at L3 level
Strong hands‐on experience with BIND (open‐source DNS)
Deep understanding of:
- TTL, caching behavior, and query resolution flow
- Latency and routing behavior
Nice to Have Skills: Experience with Anycast DNS deployments
Exposure to other DNS software: Unbound, PowerDNS, Knot DNS
Automation and scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible)
Monitoring tools: Minimum Years of Experience: 5+Certifications Needed: NoTop 3 responsibilities you would expect the Subcon to shoulder and execute
- Act as L3 escalation point for complex DNS incidents impacting production services
- Diagnose and resolve critical DNS outages, performance degradation, and security issues
- Provide expert support for authoritative and recursive DNS infrastructures
- Work closely with L1/L2 teams, NOC, and Core Network teams to restore services quickly
- Deep troubleshooting of BIND
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents
