Safety Advisor - Toowoomba

Are you a safety professional who prefers being out on site rather than stuck behind a desk? Do you want to work for a Tier 1 builder that backs its people and treats safety as a core value, not a tick-and-flick exercise? Then this is the role for you.

About the role

My client is looking for an experienced Safety Advisor to join their team in Toowoomba. You'll support a diverse portfolio of construction projects across the region, working alongside site teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to keep their people safe and projects compliant. This is a hands-on, highly visible role where you'll make a real difference every day.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing proactive health and safety support across construction projects throughout Toowoomba and surrounds
  • Travelling between project sites to conduct inspections, audits and safety observations
  • Assisting project teams with risk assessments, SWMS, incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems
  • Monitoring site safety performance and identifying opportunities to lift outcomes
  • Coaching and educating employees, subcontractors and stakeholders on safety best practice
  • Promoting a positive safety culture through clear, genuine engagement with site teams
  • Assisting with injury management and return-to-work processes where required
  • Maintaining accurate safety records, reports and compliance documentation
  • Building strong working relationships with site teams and stakeholders across multiple projects

What you'll bring

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in workplace health and safety or a related field
  • Ideally 5+ years' experience in a similar role
  • A current driver's licence and the ability to travel regularly between project sites
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, standards and best practice
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems
  • The ability to work as part of a team and show initiative when working independently
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with all stakeholders
  • A down-to-earth, friendly and professional approach (a sense of humour helps!)

Why this role?

  • Work with a respected Tier 1 builder on a varied mix of quality projects
  • Join a supportive, down-to-earth team that values collaboration and doing things the right way
  • Be part of a business that invests in continuous improvement and in its people
  • Enjoy variety, with no two days or sites the same
  • Build your career with a company that recognises initiative and rewards good work

Ready to help build safer sites?

If you're a proactive safety professional who wants to be part of a team that genuinely cares, we want to hear from you.

Additional information

  • Hands on role working on a variety of projects
