WRISC has been funded by a philanthropic foundation to design, develop and embed a financially sustainable, education-based program specifically for children and adolescents experiencing family violence. This education-based program supports early intervention, healing and recovery of children and young people that have experienced family violence and will contribute to breaking the cycle of inter-generational violence and trauma. We are in year 2 of a 3-year funding cycle provided to scale up the original pilot program ‘Feeling Visible’. This is a part-time 0.6 FTE position focused on the design and facilitation of individual workshops and group programs, and the community engagement to promote and expand the programs into schools across the central highlands region. The initial contract for this position will run until June 2028.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design of individual workshops and groups, including the development of inclusive materials and resources, aligned to the program framework.
  • Facilitate a range of individual workshops and group offerings within the Feeling Visible program and deliver therapeutically sound, trauma-informed, client-centered, Family-Violence informed programs that use evidence-based practices.
  • Actively build and maintain professional relationships with school leaders, wellbeing teams and educators, to support the expansion of Feeling Visible across the Region.
  • Work alongside the school systems to support collaboration of therapeutic practices and co-facilitation.

About you:

Ideally you will have both demonstrated experience designing and delivering therapeutic interventions for children and young people, and family violence prevention/early intervention knowledge and skills.
