The World Surf League is seeking an experienced Events Operations Manager to join our team in Coolangatta, Queensland. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in the seamless execution of our world-class surfing events, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently from start to finish.
What you'll be doing:
- Overseeing all logistical planning and on-site operations for World Surf League events
- Coordinating with various stakeholders, including venue managers, sponsors, and volunteers, to deliver exceptional experiences for athletes, spectators, and partners
- Managing event budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure events are delivered on time and on budget
- Developing key event safety plans
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving any issues that arise during events, and implementing contingency plans as needed
- Continuously seeking ways to improve event operations and implement innovative solutions
What we're looking for:
- Extensive experience (3+ years) in large-scale event operations, preferably within the sports or entertainment industry
- Essential experience specifically within the sports or entertainment industry
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex events, budgets, and stakeholder relationships
- Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Experience using mapping software such as AutoCAD or Sketchup
- Willingness to develop AutoCAD or SketchUp proficiency with training provided
- Forklift licence (desirable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
- Passion for the sport of surfing and a keen understanding of the World Surf League's brand and events
- Australian work rights are required for this position
