Our client is a well-established engineering consultancy based in North Sydney, delivering structural and civil engineering across a broad range of commercial, residential and industrial projects. They have a large, collaborative team and a genuine commitment to developing their engineers.
About the Position
Lead structural design on a varied mix of commercial, residential and industrial projects
Work with a large support team of junior engineers, drafters and civil engineers
Take ownership of projects from concept through to construction
Mentor junior engineers and help shape the next generation of the team
Permanent, full-time role based in the North Sydney office
Key Responsibilities Include
Design structural systems in concrete, steel, timber and masonry
Prepare calculations, specifications and design documentation
Direct and review drafting output to ensure quality and accuracy
Guide and check the work of junior engineers
Liaise with clients, architects, builders and other consultants
Carry out site inspections and respond to construction queries
Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards and the NCC
Manage your own project timelines, fees and deliverables
Skills and Experience Required
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Significant structural design experience, ideally 8+ years
Strong design capability across concrete, steel and timber structures
Experience on commercial, residential or industrial projects
Proficiency in structural analysis and design software
Sound working knowledge of Australian Standards and the NCC
Confidence mentoring junior engineers and directing drafters
CPEng or NER registration, or working towards it
Salary of $140k-160k plus super
Start before Christmas and receive 5 days' paid shutdown leave, with no impact on your leave balance
Support to achieve CPEng, with clear career progression
Large support team of engineers and drafters
