What you will be doing:
- Majority of the workday is completed within the cabin of the vehicle.
- Duties involve a range of hand functions, forward reaching, steering, foot pedal operations and head and upper body turning positions for observations.
- Assist labourers with manual tasks such as sweeping, raking and shovelling asphalt.
- Manual work typically constitutes 5-10% of a workday, but can be as much as 60-70% if the crew is rich with plant operators.
- Exposed to whole body vibration and noise from machinery operation.
- Working at height (up to 4 metres).
- Exposed to radiant heat and odours from hot asphalt; capacity to wear respiratory protection may be required.
- Lifting and carrying/manual handling tasks up to 25kgs.
