We are seeking a reliable and hands‑on Trades Assistant & Qualified Fitter to support our client's workshop and onsite operations.
Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you will assist with and undertake pump maintenance, dismantling, inspection, repair and reassembly of pumps and associated equipment.
The role will involve working in a fully equipped engineering workshop as well as attending client sites to assist with onsite maintenance and repairs.
A current manual driver's licence is mandatory, as travel to client sites is a requirement of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with and undertake pump maintenance, servicing and repairs.
- Dismantle, inspect, clean and reassemble pumps and mechanical components.
- Use hand and power tools and workshop equipment safely.
- Assist with identifying mechanical faults and worn or damaged components.
- Support general workshop operations and equipment handling.
- Attend client sites to undertake or assist with maintenance and repair work.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have
- Trades Assistant- Previous Trades Assistant experience.
- Fitter-recognised mechanical fitting trade qualification if applying as a Qualified Fitter.
- Previous experience in mechanical fitting, pump repairs, machinery maintenance or a similar industrial environment.
- A current manual driver's licence - mandatory.
- Confidence using hand tools, power tools and mechanical workshop equipment.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A reliable attitude, strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- The ability to travel to client sites as required.
Experience with commercial or heavy industrial pumps and rotating equipment will be highly regarded.
