WorkCover Queensland is entering an exciting new chapter, guided by a renewed strategic focus and strong executive leadership shaping our 2030 Strategy. We're embarking on an enterprise-wide transformation to strengthen our impact and continue making a positive difference in people's lives.
Join WorkCover Queensland's Fraud team and play an important role in protecting the integrity of Queensland's workers' compensation scheme. As a Fraud Investigator, you'll manage fraud and non‐compliance investigations from referral through to outcome, gathering and assessing evidence, preparing detailed investigation reports and delivering high-quality referrals to the regulator.
Working in a complex and highly sensitive environment, you'll collaborate with internal stakeholders, external agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure investigations are conducted professionally, efficiently and in line with legislative and compliance requirements. You'll also contribute to fraud prevention and risk mitigation initiatives that help strengthen WorkCover's fraud control framework and protect the scheme for Queensland workers and employers.
We're seeking an investigator with experience managing fraud, workplace investigations or insurance claims‐related investigations who is looking to further develop their expertise within a dedicated fraud team. You may have gained this experience within an investigative environment where you've managed sensitive matters, gathered and assessed evidence, prepared investigation reports and worked within regulatory or compliance frameworks.
You'll be a strong communicator with excellent written reporting skills, sound judgement, analytical and organisational skills, and a high level of attention to detail. A Certificate IV in Government (Investigations) or equivalent investigative qualification will be highly regarded. Most importantly, you'll bring a genuine passion for investigations, the confidence to manage complex stakeholder relationships, and the ability to balance competing priorities while delivering high-quality, defensible outcomes.
Our vision is to be the best workers' compensation insurer, making a positive difference to people's lives and keeping Queenslanders working. At WorkCover, we deliver with heart, own our outcomes, work best together and stay open to what's possible - and we're looking for people who share these values.
When you join us, you'll benefit from:
- A purpose‐driven organisation where your work genuinely makes a positive impact on Queenslanders' lives
- A collaborative and supportive team environment that values empathy, trust and working together
- Hybrid work arrangements that support flexibility and work-life balance
- Personalised learning and development opportunities to support your growth and career progression
- A holistic health and wellbeing program designed to support you both professionally and personally
- Study assistance to support ongoing education and professional development
