Category Manager - Frozen Veg & Protein

Lead the end-to-end strategy and execution of the Freezer (Frozen Veg & Protein) category. Full Time 12 month contract opportunity based in Bella Vista.

What you'll do:

• Lead the strategy and execution of the dessert and baking category.
• Take ownership of financial performance and market share while coaching a team and collaborating cross-functionally to unlock growth opportunities.
• Develop and implement customer-centered category plans and reviews to meet KPIs across sales, profit, inventory, and market share.
• Negotiate effectively with suppliers regarding range, Cost of Goods (COGs), and promotional investments to secure a competitive advantage.
• Oversee the full "4 Ps" (Product, Price, Promotion, Placement), sourcing customer-centric products while ensuring all legal and statutory compliance.
• Partner with cross-functional teams—including Marketing, Online, Replenishment, and Insights—to execute seamless category strategies.
• Coach, manage, and develop your team members to foster high performance and resolve customer or store issues promptly.

What you'll bring:

• Proven buying experience in a large supermarket or FMCG environment (or readiness to step up from a high-performing Assistant Category Manager role).
• Strong financial and data literacy (including Excel/Google proficiency) to develop market-leading category plans, drive product innovation, and deliver continuous improvement based on commercial insights.
• A demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels, combining excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative cross-functional approach.
• A reputation as an outstanding leader and team player who can coach a high-performing team, fostering a culture where the customer is at the center of every decision.
• Highly organised, adaptable to change, and resilient, with excellent communication skills and a deep alignment with the Woolworths values and ways of working.
