At Wonderschool Chifley, we see children as capable thinkers, researchers and active participants in their learning. We’re looking for an Early Childhood Teacher who listens closely, takes children’s ideas seriously and knows how to extend their thinking. Our team has worked together for up to 20 years in a centre that provides care for 36 children (10 preschoolers per day).

To be considered for the next round, you must address all five selection criteria below. Keep your responses brief and use specific examples from your practice.
- Extend children’s thinking and curiosity. How have you used children’s ideas, strengths and questions to develop intentional, play-based learning that deepens their understanding?
- Make learning visible. Show how you use observation, analysis, documentation and reflection to plan for and extend each child’s learning, guided by the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Respect every child’s voice. Describe how you build respectful relationships, uphold children’s rights and create inclusive environments where children feel safe, capable and heard.
- Bring professional knowledge to practice. Explain how you apply the National Quality Standard, child safety responsibilities and professional ethics in your everyday teaching.
- Strengthen the team around the child. Share how you collaborate with families, mentor educators and use feedback or professional learning to improve outcomes for children.
