Biodiversity Team Leader – Land Management & Civil Works
Galari Land & Civil is seeking an experienced and hands-on Biodiversity Team Leader to help deliver biodiversity and land-management contract at Evolution Mining's Lake Cowal operations. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will coordinate multiple employees, work crews and daily tasks across agricultural, environmental and minor civil activities. This is a working leadership role suited to someone who can organise people, operate machinery and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high environmental standard.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and supervise employees, operators and trainees.
- Plan daily work activities in consultation with the Project Manager.
- Allocate labour, plant, equipment and materials across multiple tasks.
- Conduct pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and daily work briefings.
- Coordinate vegetation management, weed control, revegetation and general land-management activities.
- Oversee agricultural, environmental and minor civil works.
- Supervise machinery operations, including tractors, skid steers, excavators, slashers and remote-controlled vegetation equipment.
- Monitor work quality, productivity and environmental compliance.
- Complete site inspections, risk assessments, SWMS and daily records.
- Record completed work using digital mapping and reporting systems.
About you
- Previous team-leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong agricultural, rural land-management or environmental background.
- Practical understanding of civil works and mobile plant operations.
- Good written, verbal and digital communication skills.
- Ability to complete safety and operational documentation.
- Commitment to environmental protection and safe work practices.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening, and police check.
- Willingness to complete all required site inductions and training.
- A leadership role on a long-term biodiversity and land-management project.
- Varied work across agricultural, environmental and civil activities.
