The Winey Cow is a much-loved brunch restaurant in Main Beach QLD and Mornington VIC, known for big flavours, warm service and a team that genuinely has each other's backs. We're looking for a qualified Chef or Cook to join our kitchen on a full-time basis. You'll have a genuine love of cooking and of the industry, and you'll enjoy inspiring the people around you to do their best. This is a very hands-on role, so attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude are a must.
Key responsibilities
- Food preparation and cooking to order during service
- Preparing, seasoning and cooking all dishes on our menu
- Working pans, grills and fryers efficiently
- Checking the quality of raw ingredients and weighing ingredients
- Assisting with staff training and mentoring
- Assisting with menu design, implementation and costing (food and labour)
- Assisting with stock control and monitoring wastage
- Staff rosters
- Following hygienic food handling practices, with a high emphasis on food hygiene
About you
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) preferred
- At least 2-3 years' experience in commercial kitchens post qualification
- HACCP experience (essential)
- A genuine passion for food and a positive, team-first attitude
- Two days off every week
- A supportive, fun team where your ideas are welcome, including on the menu
