About the role
Day Shift Opportunity - 6am to 2.30pm
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Industrial Painter / Blaster to join our team at Wilson Transformer Company in Glen Waverley, Victoria. This full-time role is a key position within our Mechanical division, where you will be responsible for delivering high-quality painting and surface preparation services to support our transformer manufacturing operations.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing and coating recently fabricated large format capital equipment
- Blasting and spraying with large industrial nozzles
- Perform abrasive blasting to clean and prepare surfaces for painting
- Apply protective coatings and finishes according to specifications
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
What we're looking for
- Two years (min) hands on industrial spray painting and blasting knowhow.
- Prepare surfaces to be painted.
- Experience with industrial paint application, such as mixing materials for proper application, colour-matching, and providing quality finished surface.
- Attention to quality and detail.
- Housekeeping and general working conditions of the work areas are of a high standard.
Preferred
- It is ideal you have blasting and coatings experience on large steel surfaces such as structural steel, ship hulls or transformer tanks.
- Experience working within safety standards and procedures.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work without supervision.
- Worked in a team environment.
