Yard Labourer /Customer Service Team Member

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and motivated Yard Labourer/Customer Service Team Member to join our team in the building supplies industry. This is a hands on, varied role suited to someone who enjoys being part of a team and providing great service to our customers. You will play an important role in the day-to-day running of our yard, ensuring orders are picked accurately, trucks are loaded and unloaded safely, and customers receive friendly and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities

• Picking and preparing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Loading and unloading delivery trucks using a forklift.
• Receiving, checking and putting away incoming stock.
• Assisting customers with their orders and enquiries.
• Providing friendly and professional customer service.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe yard and storage areas.
• Ensuring stock is handled and stored correctly.
• Working closely with the sales team, drivers and other yard staff.
• Following all workplace health and safety procedures.

About You

• A strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail when picking and checking orders.
• A reliable and punctual approach to work.
• The ability to undertake manual handling and physical work.
• Previous experience in building supplies, timber, hardware or a similar industry would be an advantage, but is not essential.
