CSC Group (Community Sports Clubs), operated by Caboolture Sports Club Limited, is one of Queensland’s largest community‑owned multi‑sport club groups. We have served the Moreton Bay region since 1999. We run five licensed venues where members, families and visitors come to eat, relax and get together. Our clubs have restaurants, cafés, bars, live entertainment, kids clubs and function spaces, and they host everyday meals, birthdays, weddings and corporate events. Our venues do more than serve customers. We are a not‑for‑profit organisation, so the money our clubs earn goes back into the community.
If you join our kitchen, the food you cook helps fund local sport and community life. We are looking for a skilled, motivated Chef to join our team at North Lakes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and plate dishes for the bistro, café, bar and function menus, ensuring consistent, high‑quality meals during busy services and major club events.
- Explain and enforce food safety and hygiene rules under the Queensland Food Act 2006, the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) Code and the club’s Food Safety Program.
- Keep temperature logs, cleaning schedules and labelling records ready for council inspections and audits, and follow Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures.
- Plan seasonal bistro menus, daily specials, kids’ meals and function and banquet packages.
- Work out food and labour costs to set dish pricing and meet budget targets, and order supplies from approved suppliers.
- Meet with Venue Managers, Functions Coordinators, kitchen and waiting staff to discuss menu changes, upcoming bookings and service issues.

- Show apprentices, cooks and kitchen hands correct cooking methods, knife skills and plating techniques.
- Freeze, vacuum‑seal, cure and store food using safe preservation methods, and prepare food in bulk ahead of large functions.
- Help prepare kitchen rosters that cover peak periods, special events and public holidays within labour budgets.
- Keep up with food trends, member feedback and sales results, and suggest ways to improve the menu and the dining experience.

- A strong communicator who works well with kitchen, front‑of‑house and management teams.
- Commercially aware, keeping food costs, wastage and budgets in mind.
- Flexible and reliable, and willing to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
