Create your best future and join Westpac as a Scrum Master in Financial Crime Transformation.
What’s the role?
As a Scrum Master, you’ll support cross-functional teams within Westpac, helping deliver key Financial Crime initiatives through strong Agile practices, effective planning and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with Release Train Leads, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Change Managers, technology teams and subject matter experts to manage sprint delivery, facilitate Agile ceremonies and proactively remove blockers. You’ll use delivery metrics such as velocity, work in progress and squad health to identify opportunities to improve performance, while coaching squads to become increasingly accountable and self-managing. You’ll also manage dependencies across teams, support backlog and planning readiness, and provide clear visibility of delivery through Jira and Confluence. You’ll own delivery improvements, help teams deliver safely, and make an impact by building consistent, sustainable ways of working across transformation initiatives.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Sydney, with hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
What do I need?
- Strong experience as a Scrum Master, supporting Agile delivery within large and complex organisations.
- Strong practical knowledge of Agile and Scrum, including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, showcases and Scrum of Scrums.
- Advanced experience using Jira and Confluence to manage delivery, backlogs, dependencies and reporting.
- Proven ability to use delivery metrics and insights to improve flow, transparency and predictability.
- Strong facilitation, coaching and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without formal authority.
- Experience working across business and technology transformation, with Financial Crime, regulatory or compliance exposure highly regarded.
