South East Melbourne Full time permanent role. If you're CA or CPA qualified with a background in Big 4 and you've either just stepped into industry or you're looking to make that move now, this role gives you real commercial ownership. Bonus points if sport, leisure or wellness is already part of your story, it's a business where that world isn't just a hobby, it's the customer base.

About the Company

An impressive and rapidly growing organisation in South East Melbourne is expanding its operations and increasing its footprint across multiple locations. The business is experiencing strong demand, new customer growth and rising operational complexity, creating the need for a Finance Business Partner who can bring clarity, structure and commercial insight during a period of genuine scale.

About the Role

This is a commercial and hands on role where you will partner closely with operational leaders across multiple sites to strengthen financial performance, improve reporting and provide clear insights that support decision making. You will lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, analyse contracts, prepare high quality financial reports and use BI tools to improve data integrity and visibility. The role suits someone who enjoys variety, pace and being embedded in the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Budgeting and forecasting β€” partner with operational leaders to prepare accurate budgets and forecasts and ensure alignment with financial accounting.
  • Contract and commercial analysis β€” review customer and partner agreements and provide clear financial insights, recommendations and commercial guidance.
  • Financial reporting β€” prepare high quality reports and presentations that highlight performance, risks, opportunities and improvement areas.
  • Business intelligence β€” use BI tools to strengthen reporting quality, improve data integrity and deliver benchmarks and comparisons for budgeting and business cases.
  • Commercial insight β€” translate financial and operational data into actionable insights that support confident decision making.
  • Cost and performance optimisation β€” identify cost saving opportunities, resource optimisation and performance gaps across multiple sites.
  • Business case and risk management β€” prepare commercially sound business cases and identify financial or contractual risks that require escalation.

What You Will Bring

  • CA or CPA qualification.
  • Big 4 background spanning audit, forensic accounting, disputes advisory or corporate finance.
  • Experience already gained in industry, ideally within sport, leisure, wellness or a similar operational business.
  • Confidence engaging with non finance stakeholders and operational leaders.
  • Solid grounding in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI.
  • A proactive mindset and genuine curiosity about how a business runs, not just how it reports.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • The next step up in commercial finance, with real autonomy from day one.
  • Direct exposure to leaders who value your insight, not just your accuracy.
  • Work inside a business built around sport, leisure and active lifestyles.
  • Variety across multiple sites and operational teams.
  • Visibility and influence in a business that's actively growing and changing shape.
  • Hybrid working with on site parking.
