About Us
The Albatross Bay Resort located on the western coast of the Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland is a fast-paced, customer-focused retail drive thru bottle shop in the heart of Weipa. We pride ourselves on delivering great service, cold product from well-stocked fridges, and deep product knowledge to our local community.
The Role
We are looking for an energetic and reliable Bottle Shop Attendant to join our friendly team. In this hands-on role, you will be the face of our store, ensuring customers have a great experience while maintaining high operational and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver warm, attentive, and responsible customer service.
- Operate the POS (point of sale) register, process cash/EFTPOS transactions, and handle daily reconciliations.
- Restock shelves, fridges, and promotional displays while maintaining neat store presentation.
- Receive incoming stock deliveries, check manifests, and rotate stock (FIFO method).
- Conduct opening and closing procedures, ensuring store and cash security.
- Strictly enforce RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) and ID checks at all times.
What We’re Looking For (Requirements):
- Current and valid RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate (Mandatory in QLD/Australia).
- Previous retail, hospitality, or liquor store experience.
- Basic-to-strong knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and craft beverages.
- Physical fitness and manual handling capability (ability to bend, stand for long shifts, and lift/carry cartons of beer and wine up to 15–20 kg).
- Flexible availability to work rotating roster shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Honest, punctual, and reliable work ethic with a clean presentation.
