Waraich Mechanicals Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and mechanical systems to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation.
Key responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines, vehicles and associated components using diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
- Inspect, maintain, service and repair diesel engines and mechanical systems.
- Dismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble engines, transmissions, gearboxes, braking systems, steering systems and other mechanical components.
- Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and mechanical inspections.
- Repair or replace defective parts, including fuel injectors, pumps, filters, belts, bearings and engine components.
- Test and adjust diesel fuel injection systems, engine management systems and emission control components.
- Conduct diagnostic testing and road testing to identify faults and verify completed repairs.
- Perform engine tune-ups, adjustments and mechanical repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of servicing, repairs, inspections and parts used.
- Ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety requirements and relevant industry standards.
About you:
- Minimum AQF Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology, Diesel Motor Mechanic or a closely related automotive mechanical qualification.
- Minimum 12 months of relevant employment experience working as a Diesel Motor Mechanic or in a closely related role.
- Demonstrated experience diagnosing, servicing and repairing diesel engines and associated mechanical systems.
- Sound knowledge of diesel engine technology, automotive mechanical systems and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and perform mechanical repairs independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Current driver's licence is highly regarded.
