About the company:
W Talent is partnering with a well-regarded, independently owned Queensland builder that delivers commercial, industrial, mixed-use, health, education and childcare projects across South East Queensland and Northern NSW. The business is led by an experienced director with a tier-two contracting background and has grown steadily on the strength of repeat clients. The company delivers through design and construct, early contractor involvement and construct-only models.
The projects Contract Administrators are being appointed to one of two Brisbane projects, both starting construction between January and March 2027:
- Fortitude Valley commercial development (under $20M): a technically challenging build in one of Brisbane’s most sought-after precincts. It has a single-level basement, ground floor, two levels of office and a rooftop bar.
- City fringe industrial development (approx. $50M): a large-scale industrial project close to the CBD.
You’ll join during a significant pre-construction phase, so you’ll have real input into procurement and buildability before work starts on site.
The role:
- Prepare tender packages, obtain and compare subcontractor quotes, and help recommend trade awards.
- Prepare and administer subcontract agreements and supporting records.
- Assess subcontractor progress claims and issue payment schedules within contractual timeframes.
- Assess and document variations, and help prepare head contract variations and claims.
- Maintain cost reports, commitments and forecasts.
- Track contract notices, time-related matters and correspondence.
- Coordinate with site teams, consultants and subcontractors on scope and documentation.
- Contribute to procurement planning and buildability during pre-construction.
- Support defects, close-out and final accounts.
Open to all levels. This role will be shaped around the successful candidate. It could suit an earlier-career Contract Administrator ready for broader exposure, or a senior CA ready to carry more of the commercial load.
About you:
- Contract administration experience with a commercial or industrial builder, at any level.
- Working knowledge of procurement, subcontracts, progress claims, variations and cost reporting.
- Tertiary study in construction management, quantity surveying or a related field (desirable).
- Accurate, reliable record-keeping and ownership of commercial deadlines.
- Commercial awareness, including the ability to spot scope gaps, risks and contractual issues early.
- Confidence working alongside Project Managers, site teams and subcontractors.
Why apply?
- Work on a high-profile Fortitude Valley build or a substantial city fringe industrial project.
- See a project through from pre-construction to handover.
- Join a growing independent builder where your contribution is visible.
- Have your role and responsibilities shaped around where you are in your career.
