Rather than inherit an established team and existing processes, you will have the autonomy to define how asset management operates across the Australian business. With a growing pipeline of hybrid Solar and BESS projects progressing towards construction and operations, you will shape the systems, contracts, partnerships and operational frameworks required to manage these assets throughout their lifecycle. You will work closely with senior leadership in Australia and internationally, drawing on established global expertise while developing an approach tailored to the Australian energy market. This is an opportunity to move beyond day-to-day portfolio management and take genuine ownership of a business-critical function, with the scope to build and lead a team as the portfolio grows.

About the Role

Working closely with the Australian leadership team and the global asset management function, you will be responsible for establishing the commercial, operational and strategic foundations of the Australian portfolio. The position will involve close collaboration with development, engineering, construction, finance and energy markets teams, alongside external EPC contractors, O&M providers and asset management partners. A key priority will be determining which services should be managed internally and which should be outsourced, ensuring the business has the right operating model to maximise asset performance, manage risk and deliver long-term commercial returns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead the Australian asset management function, including strategy, governance, systems and operational frameworks.
  • Develop and negotiate O&M agreements, asset management contracts and third-party service arrangements.
  • Define operational readiness requirements across hybrid Solar and BESS assets, including control room capabilities, energy trading interfaces and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive asset performance, commercial optimisation and risk management across the portfolio, working closely with construction and energy markets teams.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in renewable energy asset management, ideally across utility-scale Solar, BESS or hybrid generation assets.
  • Commercial expertise across O&M contracts, service provider management, operational budgets and asset performance.
  • Sound technical understanding of renewable energy infrastructure and the operational requirements of generation and storage assets.
  • Experience developing asset management strategies, establishing processes or improving operating models.
  • Ability to operate independently, influence senior stakeholders and take ownership of complex commercial and operational decisions.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to establish and lead an entirely new asset management function.
  • Direct exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making across Australia and internationally.
  • Access to established global expertise, resources and operational capabilities.
  • Long-term career progression as the Australian portfolio develops and expands.
  • Sydney CBD location with flexibility around working arrangements.
