The Opportunity We are looking for a Senior Advisor, Design Logistics to provide specialist advice across health facility logistics, planning and design assurance. This is an opportunity to bring your health sector and operational experience into the design environment, helping ensure our health facilities not only work on paper, but work effectively for the people who use them every day. You'll consider how patients, staff, equipment, supplies, goods, waste and services move through healthcare environments and work with health services, consultants and project teams to ensure these operational requirements are considered throughout planning and design. This role will have the opportunity to influence broader design practice by contributing to guidance, tools and approaches that support consistent and contemporary health infrastructure outcomes across VIDA Health.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Provide specialist advice on health facility logistics, operational flows and support services, including supply chains, equipment movement, storage, waste, loading and materials handling.
- Review health facility planning and designs throughout key project stages, identifying operational, functional and logistics risks and providing practical advice to improve outcomes.
- Work closely with health services, project teams, consultants and other stakeholders to ensure operational requirements are appropriately reflected in planning and design.
- Contribute to design guidance, tools and review processes that capture evidence, project learnings and contemporary health facility logistics practice.
We are looking for:
- Strong experience in health facility logistics, operational planning, support services planning or health infrastructure, with an understanding of how operational requirements influence facility design.
- Experience reviewing health facility plans or designs and the ability to identify operational, logistics and interface risks and translate these into clear, practical recommendations.
- Knowledge of health facility planning principles, relevant standards and contemporary health infrastructure practice.
- Strong stakeholder skills, with the confidence to work collaboratively with health services, operational teams, consultants and project stakeholders and influence outcomes.
- An analytical and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and provide clear written and verbal advice in a complex project environment.
A tertiary qualification in health planning, architecture, engineering, logistics, supply chain management, operations, project management, asset management or a related discipline is highly desirable.
