About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join us as Manager, Workplace Relations and Wellbeing Services.

Reporting to the General Manager, Products and Services, you will provide overall people and operational leadership for the Workplace Relations and Wellbeing team, overseeing day-to-day operations, workforce coordination, governance and continuous improvement.

As the key management link between the General Manager and the team, you will translate strategic and commercial priorities into practical plans, provide insight into performance and opportunities, and lead key projects and partnerships.

You will also act as our workplace relations and safety policy adviser, working with our Policy and Advocacy team and technical subject matter experts to develop evidence-based policy positions and advocacy initiatives.

Key responsibilities include

  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing and customer-focused team.
  • Oversee workforce planning, operational priorities, resources and continuous improvement.
  • Lead strategic projects, programs and key partnerships.
  • Support the delivery of portfolio strategy, commercial priorities and sustainable growth opportunities.
  • Lead business planning, performance reporting, governance and operational risk management.
  • Develop and coordinate workplace relations and safety policy positions, submissions and advocacy initiatives.
  • Build effective relationships with government, regulators, industry bodies, members and other stakeholders.

This is a leadership and operational management role rather than a consulting caseload position, with a strong focus on people, operations, policy, governance, projects and growth.

About you

You are an experienced people leader with strong commercial judgement who can translate strategy into action and work effectively with experienced technical professionals.

You will bring

  • Substantial people leadership and operational management experience within professional services, advisory, membership or a comparable environment.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace relations and workplace safety policy, supported by a relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Experience developing policy positions, submissions, briefings or advocacy materials.
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with demonstrated project, program or partnership management experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the credibility to work across senior leaders, technical professionals and external stakeholders.
  • Highly developed written communication, judgement and governance capability.
  • Our Commitment to Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace that values diversity and ensures equal opportunities for all.

We welcome and encourage applications from First Nations people, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
