About the role

The HR Assist, Enterprise Rostering and Oracle Fusion (HERO) Program is delivering a suite of new enterprise workforce management solutions, including Oracle Fusion Cloud, Enterprise Rostering and Timesheets, and HR Assist capabilities. As the program progresses through delivery, we are seeking talented and highly skilled technical professionals to join a dynamic team responsible for implementing innovative technology solutions that will support Victoria Police into the future. As part of this transformational program, the Test Technician (Test Analyst) provides hands-on test analysis and execution across the HR Assist, Enterprise Rostering and Oracle (HERO) Program. The role analyses approved requirements and designs, develops test conditions and cases, prepares data, executes tests, captures evidence, raises defects and maintains traceability across functional, integration, regression, migration, reconciliation and user acceptance testing. The role validates end-to-end processes across Oracle Fusion Cloud, UKG Pro WFM, HR Assist, Oracle 11i transition services and connected systems. It supports test entry, exit, deployment and go-live decisions and works with business testers, Business Analysts, technical teams, vendors, data migration, integration, security, environment and deployment stakeholders. Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements.

Your duties will include:

  • Analysing approved requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, business processes, functional specifications, architecture artefacts and interface designs to identify test scenarios, conditions, dependencies, risks and gaps.
  • Design, review and maintain detailed test scenarios, cases, scripts, expected results, and test data requirements for complex functional and non-functional end-to-end processes.
  • Hands-on functional and end-to-end testing across Oracle Fusion Cloud, UKG Pro WFM, HR Assist and associated enterprise, satellite, third-party and legacy systems.
  • Coordinate and execute system, system-integration, interface, regression, migration, reconciliation and user acceptance testing within approved test plans.
  • Validate cross-system business processes, data flows, batch and file interfaces, APIs, identity and access controls, workflows, approvals, calculations, notifications, reports and reconciliations.
  • Maintain requirements-to-test traceability and ensure tests, results, evidence, defects and retest outcomes are complete, accurate, controlled and auditable.
  • Create and maintain Azure DevOps Test Plans or the approved toolset for test plans, suites, cases, execution outcomes and supporting evidence.
  • Identify, document, and classify defects with clear reproduction steps, expected and actual results, evidence, impact and affected requirements or business processes.
  • Participate in defect triage, assist investigations, coordinate retesting and regression, verify corrective actions, and confirm sufficient closure evidence.
  • Provide reporting on test preparation, execution, coverage, pass and fail results, defects, blockers, risks and escalating material issues promptly.
  • Support test gate entry and exit assessments by validating prerequisites, environment readiness, test data, coverage, defect status, residual risk and test completion evidence.
  • Develop and maintain reusable regression tests and work with the Test Automation Engineer to identify, prioritise and validate scenarios suitable for automation.
  • Support data-migration testing through source-to-target validation, reconciliation, exception analysis, reruns, verification, and evidence required for migration acceptance.
  • Prepare user acceptance testing materials, collaborate with business participants, support execution, clarify expected outcomes, and ensure issues and decisions are recorded.
  • Support production verification, cutover rehearsals, deployment validation, and hyper-care test support with other HERO teams.
  • Peer review test artefacts and evidence produced by other analysts and provide practical guidance to improve consistency, completeness, standards and quality.
  • Participate in and contribute to Go/No-Go decisions.
  • Share testing knowledge and contribute to common test templates, standards, lessons learned and continuous improvement.
  • Follow Victoria Police and HERO testing, information security, record-keeping and governance requirements.
