About Topware
Topware is a family-owned bathroom, kitchen and laundry retailer in Bayswater North, with over 30 years in the industry. We work with homeowners, renovators, designers, builders and trades through our showroom, warehouse and a growing online store with more than 7,000 products. We’ve recently extended our showroom and added leading brands such as Phoenix and Fienza to our range. We’re a small, close-knit team of 7–8 people with big growth plans.
About the role
This isn’t a typical retail role. You’ll own the entire customer journey, from first enquiry through to delivery, after-sales and repeat business, for both retail and trade customers. You’ll help homeowners plan and choose products for their bathroom or kitchen project, and look after and grow relationships with builders, plumbers and other trades.
You’ll work across every channel:
- In-store showroom consultations
- Phone and email enquiries
- Online orders
- Quoting, invoicing and order coordination
- Ongoing customer, trade and supplier relationships
What you’ll do
Sales and customer experience
Welcome and guide customers through the showroom
Understand each project (renovation, new build or styling) and recommend the right products
Convert enquiries into sales through clear advice and consistent follow-up
Trade accounts and growth
Manage and grow your trade accounts, keeping in regular contact with builders and plumbers
Proactively reach out to new and lapsed trade customers, and generate leads through referrals and local networks
Book showroom appointments and visit builders or sites when needed
End-to-end ownership
Prepare accurate, detailed quotes (often multi-item) and invoices
Manage orders from purchase through to delivery or collection
Work with suppliers and our warehouse and operations team on stock, lead times and deliveries
Keep your quotes, pipeline and customer notes up to date in our systems
After-sales, warranty and retention
Follow up after purchase and request customer reviews
Handle after-sales queries, returns and warranty claims through to resolution
Build long-term relationships that bring customers back for future projects
What we’re looking for
Sales experience, preferably in bathroom, kitchen, plumbing or building products
Product knowledge of tapware, vanities, toilets, basins, showers and kitchen sinks is preferred, though we’ll provide training
Confidence dealing with both homeowners and trades
Commercial awareness: you understand margin and sell value, not just discount
Strong attention to detail when quoting, invoicing and processing orders
Organised and able to juggle quotes, orders and follow-ups at once
Proactive: you don’t wait for customers to come to you
A problem-solver when things don’t go to plan, such as container delays, stock issues or warranty claims
Comfortable with systems such as Xero, e-commerce platforms or a CRM, or quick to learn them
Available to work a rostered weekend day
What success looks like
You consistently convert showroom, trade and online enquiries into profitable sales
Customers and trades trust you and come back for future projects
Quotes and orders are accurate and on time
After-sales and warranty matters are handled smoothly
You’re actively growing our trade and retail customer base
$75,000–$85,000 + super, plus a bonus of up to 5% based on KPI achievement
Clear ownership of your work across the full sales cycle
A growing business with a newly extended showroom and strong brands
A supportive, hands‑on, family‑run team
The opportunity to grow into senior sales or account management roles
Staff discount on our range, plus coffee, snacks and team lunches
