Commercial Finance Analyst in Melbourne

Working in a motivated team, you’ll provide financial and commercial support to the Environmental Services team, focusing on tender support, analytics, operational data analysis, and commercial contractual guidance. In your day-to-day activities, enhance internal reporting and financial models to improve decision-making and deliver value to both customers and the business. This is a permanent full-time role based on-site at our Keysborough, Victoria office.

What you'll be responsible for:

• Develop commercial models, pricing strategies and methodologies for large tenders and national rate reviews
• Analyse cost drivers and their impact on pricing to support tender submissions and business decisions
• Provide financial mentoring, advice and reporting to stakeholders across the business
• Drive continuous improvement by challenging practices, developing systems and identifying profitability initiatives
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders and commercial analysts while ensuring compliance with company policies
• Undertake financial analysis & variance reporting
• Assist in ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are accurate, complete & meeting accounting standards
• Support the development and review of assumptions for business planning and budgeting to ensure the function maximises its value creation

What you'll need to be successful:

• Demonstrated experience within a commercial or financial analyst position with skills gained in a large and complex business
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent and significant commercial experience
• Experience with Excel or Google Sheet
