We are partnering with a growing, Australian-owned infrastructure business with significant international operations to recruit a technically strong Group Financial Accountant. With an expanding portfolio of entities operating across multiple jurisdictions, this is an opportunity to take ownership of complex group accounting, consolidations and statutory reporting within a business experiencing significant growth.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting across the group, navigating different accounting standards, foreign currency requirements and intercompany arrangements. This role will suit a technically minded accountant who enjoys getting into the detail, solving complex accounting issues and improving processes as the business continues to expand.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and support monthly and annual consolidated financial statements across multiple entities and international jurisdictions;
- Manage complex intercompany accounting, including reconciliations, elimination journals, recharges and management fee allocations;
- Navigate multi-jurisdictional reporting requirements, including local GAAP differences, foreign currency translation and cross-border transactions;
- Prepare statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements;
- Support transfer pricing arrangements and maintain appropriate intercompany documentation in collaboration with tax and legal teams;
- Maintain and develop group consolidation models, reporting frameworks and financial controls;
- Coordinate external audits across multiple jurisdictions, including preparation of supporting schedules and financial statements;
- Assist with group reporting, management accounts and board reporting;
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls and efficiencies as the group continues to grow.
About you
- We are looking for a technically capable accountant with strong financial reporting experience, ideally gained within a complex, multi-entity or international group environment.
- CA or CPA qualification with a strong technical accounting foundation;
- Demonstrated experience preparing consolidated financial statements across multiple entities;
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, statutory reporting and financial statement preparation;
- Experience working across multiple jurisdictions, including foreign currency translation and differing reporting requirements;
- Sound understanding of intercompany accounting, elimination entries and group structures;
- Exposure to cross-border transactions and transfer pricing considerations would be highly regarded;
- Previous experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm, particularly within external audit, would be advantageous;
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems;
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability and confidence navigating complex accounting matters.
Why consider this opportunity?
- This is an opportunity to join a growing international business where the accounting work is varied, technical and genuinely interesting.
- Rather than stepping into a fully established reporting environment, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of processes, frameworks and controls as the business expands.
- You will also benefit from:
- Exposure to complex international group structures and multi-jurisdictional reporting;
- The opportunity to work closely with an experienced finance leadership team;
- A growing business with significant infrastructure investment and long-term expansion plans;
- Hybrid working arrangements, with two days working from home;
- Additional leave benefits, including five flexible leave days and birthday leave.
If you are a technically strong Financial Accountant looking to build on your consolidation and international reporting experience, we would welcome a confidential discussion.
