Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in coastal oceanography, spanning the full range of coastal systems including coral reefs, and environmental change, with particular emphasis on i) the interplay between coastal processes and large-scale oceanographic drivers, or ii) ecomorphodynamics and biogeomorphological processes.
  • Teach in cross-disciplinary settings and across undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels, in classroom, field and laboratory environments.
  • Design and deliver engaging educational programs and learning experiences that respond to student needs and meet curriculum requirements.
  • Lead fieldtrips and undertake fieldwork, particularly at One Tree Island Research Station, where your responsibilities will include boat driving, collection of field data and instrument deployment to enrich teaching and training.
  • Develop a research profile appropriate to career stage and opportunity, evidenced through high-quality publications.
  • Contribute effectively to administrative and service activities across the School.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Support the strategic direction of the School, Faculty and University.
