The role focuses on assessing project documentation against the contractual requirements, endorsed design outcomes, and stakeholder-approved room requirements.
The successful candidate will possess strong architectural and technical review capabilities, exceptional attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of design documentation coordination, compliance assessment, and stakeholder management. The role requires the ability to critically analyse complex project information, identify gaps and inconsistencies, and ensure all contract requirements and endorsed stakeholder outcomes are effectively translated into the final project design.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Review contract drawings, specifications, schedules, and other design documentation for compliance with project requirements and approved design intent.
- Undertake detailed assessments of Room Layout Sheets (RLS) and Room Data Sheets (RDS) issued by the Project Architect, ensuring alignment with the contract documents and project requirements.
- Review Project User Group (PUG) and Working Group (WG) endorsement packages to verify that endorsed stakeholder requirements, comments, and decisions have been appropriately incorporated into the design documentation.
- Identify omissions, inconsistencies, non-conformances, and potential design risks across contract documents, RLSs, RDSs, and endorsed stakeholder requirements.
- Verify that contractual obligations, functional requirements, operational requirements, and endorsed stakeholder outcomes are fully addressed within the contractor's design development submissions.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive review comments, design compliance reports, and issue registers for issuance to the Contractor for action and resolution.
- Coordinate and consolidate feedback from multiple stakeholders to provide a single, structured review response to the Contractor.
- Maintain an issues and actions register, tracking the resolution of review comments and ensuring matters are addressed in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Monitor the incorporation of endorsed comments and agreed design changes throughout the design development and design finalisation process.
- Work closely with project stakeholders, consultants, and the Contractor to resolve design issues and achieve compliance with project requirements.
- Provide regular updates to the Senior Design Manager on design review outcomes, key risks, unresolved issues, and emerging compliance concerns.
- Support project governance processes by maintaining accurate audit trails, records of reviews, endorsements, decisions, and issue close-out documentation.
About you:
- Degree in Architecture or equivalent architectural qualification.
- Registered Architect (preferred).
- Minimum 10 years' experience in architectural design, design management, technical design review, or design assurance roles.
