Toowoomba or Ipswich campus

Help shape the spaces and infrastructure that support UniSQ's future. Join UniSQ's Facilities Management team and play a key role in the planning, coordination and delivery of capital and minor works projects across our campuses. As a Senior Projects Coordinator, you'll bring together people, priorities and technical expertise to deliver high-quality outcomes and help create safe, functional and future-ready facilities for the University community.

It's an exciting time to contribute to UniSQ's infrastructure, with significant projects such as the new UniSQ Ipswich Health Building demonstrating the University's investment in contemporary teaching, research and training facilities. The new three-storey facility will provide more than 3,000 square metres of purpose-built space for learning, teaching and research. In addition, the University is investing in significant projects across all three Campuses, and Facilities Management has a strong pipeline of projects.

Who you are

You're an organised and collaborative project professional who enjoys turning complex requirements into practical solutions. Comfortable managing multiple projects and competing priorities, you bring sound judgement, innovative thinking and a strong focus on delivering high-quality outcomes. Just as importantly, you know successful projects are built on strong relationships. You'll be confident working with internal and external stakeholders, understanding their needs and maintaining a strong commitment to quality service throughout the project lifecycle.

What you'll do

Working across the project lifecycle, you'll coordinate diverse capital works and facilities projects and help ensure they are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and in accordance with relevant University requirements. In this role, you will:

  • develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules and budgets;
  • identify and manage project risks and issues and implement effective mitigation strategies;
  • monitor project progress and communicate clear, timely updates and reports to stakeholders;
  • ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, standards and regulations;
  • provide technical expertise and guidance to external project teams;
  • support the successful completion and transition of projects to operational teams.

What will help you succeed

Key to your success in this role, will be your experience in project delivery and your ability to navigate competing priorities, stakeholder needs and operational challenges within a complex environment. You will also bring:

  • a relevant degree in project management, construction, engineering or a related field with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training;
  • demonstrated experience coordinating capital works or facilities projects within a complex organisational environment;
  • strong organisational and project management capability, including the ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities and deadlines;
  • the ability to develop practical solutions, evaluate alternatives and achieve high-quality outcomes;
  • strong stakeholder and client relationship skills, with a commitment to providing quality service;
  • a current driver's licence and a current construction industry White Card.

Experience within higher education or the public sector will be highly regarded, particularly an understanding of sector-specific governance, compliance and strategic infrastructure priorities.

What we offer

This is an opportunity to contribute to capital works and facilities projects that directly support UniSQ's infrastructure and operational excellence. Your work will have a direct impact on the University's ability to provide safe, functional and future-ready facilities. You'll also enjoy:

  • the opportunity to work across varied facilities and infrastructure projects and collaborate with a diverse range of internal stakeholders and external project teams;
  • a collaborative team environment that values teamwork, open communication and continuous improvement;
  • generous superannuation and a range of employee benefits;
  • flexible working arrangements to support a positive work/life balance.
