As Manager Device Services, you'll lead the strategy and delivery of UNE's endpoint computing environment, shaping the hardware, software, and standard operating environments that underpin the daily work of every staff member across the University. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll architect and manage the standard equipment list and SOE, drive fleet patching and security posture, oversee student-facing computer labs, and identify opportunities to introduce smarter, more cost-effective ways of delivering desktop services. You'll lead a small team, work closely with the Senior Manager Digital Infrastructure, and play a key role in strategic planning for Digital Infrastructure.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Deep expertise in desktop technologies - Windows and macOS environments, SOE management, and endpoint security.
- Proven project delivery - planning, prioritising, and executing large-scale IT initiatives under competing deadlines.
- Experience at scale - architecting and managing standardised hardware and software environments across a large organisation.
- Strong communication skills - able to translate complex technical concepts clearly for non-technical stakeholders.
- Genuine Leadership capability - guiding teams, building culture, and fostering a collaborative, service-oriented environment.
- A strategic mindset - always looking for opportunities to innovate and continuously improve.
This role sits within the Digital Infrastructure team, part of UNE's Technology and Digital Services (TDS) directorate - the team responsible for the technology platforms, infrastructure, and digital services that underpin everything from teaching and research to day-to-day operations. The work is diverse, challenging, and genuinely rewarding.
