About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Boarding House Coordinator to join our Boarding House team on a permanent full-time basis. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to lead a unique housing program operating across four Boarding House sites in the CBD, including one staffed site operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and three unstaffed sites. Working with a diverse tenant group who may be vulnerable, at risk of homelessness, or seeking stable and affordable accommodation, you will play a pivotal role in creating safe, well-managed housing environments and achieving positive tenancy outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of Unity Housing’s Boarding House Program, ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality services.
  • Supervise, coach and support staff, fostering a high-performing and accountable team culture.
  • Coordinate a 24/7 staffing model, ensuring appropriate coverage and continuity of service.
  • Manage tenancy and occupancy outcomes, including allocations, sustainment strategies and complex tenancy matters.
  • Oversee site operations, maintenance, safety and compliance requirements across the Boarding House portfolio.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with tenants, support providers and key community stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement, risk management and operational performance to achieve positive tenant outcomes.

Special Conditions

  • This is an on-site position based at our Boarding House, with working from home options not available.
  • While the role is primarily Monday to Friday, flexibility is required to support the operational needs of a 24/7 site, including availability outside standard working hours.
  • Participation in an on-call roster is required, including responding to escalated or urgent matters as needed.
