About the opportunity
Unison Solar Energyis expanding itsquality function tosupport the nextphase of ourgrowth. We arerecruiting an Incoming& Material Quality Technician to ensure materialsare inspected, controlledand traceable beforeentering production.
In this role, you will performincoming material inspectionsand approved testing, maintain material statusand traceability, operatethe incoming-materialinspection laboratory, support investigations and production trials.
This is anopportunity to playa hands-onrole in strengtheningmaterial quality andmanufacturing outcomesfor a growingsolar business. Youwill help identifymaterial risks, supportcontinuous improvementand ensure thematerials behind Australia’sclean energy futuremeet the requiredstandards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct incoming materialinspections and testing, verifying specifications, supplier, batch/lotdetails and documentationfor full traceability.
- Manage materialstatus and traceability, accurately record results, and raise NCRsfornonconforming materials.
- Supportmaterial investigationsby gathering samples, production data, photographsand traceability evidence.
- Support production trials, material comparisons,replacement materials andcontrolled material changes.
- Monitor recurring materialissues, identify trendsand highlight qualityrisks and improvementopportunities.
- Collaborate with localteamsand overseas stakeholdersto communicate qualityfindings, resolvematerial issues andsupport investigations.
- What you will bring
- A Certificate, Diploma, secondary educationor equivalent practicalexperience in Quality, Materials, Manufacturing, Laboratory or arelated technical field.
- Practical experiencein sampling, inspection,basic material testing, NCRs, material statuscontrol and traceability.
- Confidence operating routineinspection and laboratoryequipment in linewith approved procedures.
- Strong attention todetail with accurateERP/QMS dataentry, record keepingand basic dataanalysis.
- A structured andevidence-based approachto investigating materialand production issues.
- Strong communication andcollaboration skills, withthe confidence towork across multipleteams.
- The judgement andconfidence to identify, hold or rejectnonconforming materials.
