The opportunity Delaware North Australia is hiring a casual Commis Chef to join our banquets team at Mindil Beach Casino Resort in Darwin, NT. As a Commis Chef, you will be responsible for collaborating with senior chefs to create dishes that make a lasting impression. What you will do:
- Prepare a range of dishes in a high-volume production setting.
- Follow recipes for menu preparation, ensuring adherence to cooking guidelines and standards.
- Execute food preparation tasks, showcasing expertise in food presentation.
- Maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area.
- Ensure HACCP and WHS compliance, displaying a strong commitment to meeting Food Safety standards including conducting temperature and quality checks and effectively managing cross-contamination.
More about you:
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef is required and proven experience in an a' la carte restaurant or function service is preferred.
- Solid background in kitchen operations.
- Minimum Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety certificate, or willing to obtain at onboarding.
- A passion for food and creative flair.
- Demonstrated track record meeting financial targets for food and labor costs.
- Available to be rostered over a 7-day roster including weekends, evenings/nights and public holidays if required.
