UMENCO is recruiting a Junior Merchandise Planner for a modern tailoring house, defined by craftsmanship, individuality and contemporary approach to classic design. The Junior Merchandise Planner will join the Merchandise Planning team, reporting directly to the Merchandise Planning Manager and supporting the Ready-to-Wear business across the full planning cycle.
This hands‐on and analytical role will cover trade reporting, stock monitoring, allocations, forecasting and product exit strategies, providing broad exposure to the commercial performance of the business and the opportunity to translate data into clear actionable insights.
The successful talent will support weekly, monthly and seasonal reporting, analyse sales and stock performance across channels and regions and assist with initial and in‐season allocations. The Junior Merchandise Planner will monitor stock health, identify opportunities and risks, support aged inventory strategies and contribute to seasonal range reviews, historical analysis and post‐launch performance tracking.
Working closely with Production, Retail and Operations, the successful talent will help ensure product flows efficiently and planning deliverables remain aligned to key business timelines. This role is intentionally structured to offer genuine career progression, with the opportunity to gradually take ownership of a category or defined area of the business as skills and experience are developed.
The successful talent will be highly organised, commercially minded and confident working with data, with strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and an understanding of stock cover, sell‐through and forecasting principles. Clear communication and the ability to turn analysis into commercially relevant recommendations will be essential.
Ideally bringing 1-2 years experience in merchandise planning, allocation, buying support or a similarly analytical retail or e‐commerce role, the Junior Merchandise Planner will have a strong numerical and analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail. Experience within fashion or apparel, alongside exposure to WSSI, open‐to‐buy, range planning or ERP, POS and inventory systems, will be advantageous. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planner looking to build their expertise and progress towards broader planning or category ownership within a growing global fashion business.
