I am Mark Rowland, and I am 52 years old. I live in Liverpool but I am originally from London. I came to Liverpool to study at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, where I completed a one-year foundation course in performing arts. I then went on to do a degree in commercial music production at Chester College in Warrington. I have been in Liverpool for 26 years.

I have a rare form of cerebral palsy (CP) known as athetoid, which affects my muscles and causes involuntary movements. I have trouble holding an upright position when seated, am unable to stand, and have difficulty with eating, drinking, and non-verbal communication. However, I am an easy person to get along with who enjoys having a laugh.

To live my life how I want, I use personal assistants 24/7 for support. I prefer to call it support rather than care, as my personal assistants help me achieve my goals without judging my decisions. I have two positions for personal assistants: one does a 24-hour shift, and the other does a 14-hour day shift starting at 8 am and finishing at 10 pm. There are breaks in between, and you can rest after completing your tasks.

I am looking for someone who can do the day shifts on Wednesday and Thursday each week, which totals 28 hours per week. Your duties will include:

  • All aspects of personal care, including washing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Assisting with medications.
  • Housework and laundry.
  • Meal preparation.
  • Assisting with appointments, socialising, and daily life activities.

You will receive training for these tasks. My interests include watching films and series, music, and socialising. If you feel you are right for this job, please reach out.
