As the Regional Engineer for NSW, you'll act as the key engineering contact for the region, working alongside Operations & Maintenance teams, Superintendents and Defence stakeholders to support asset performance, maintenance activities and improvement initiatives.

This is less of a traditional design engineering role and more focused on solving operational problems, building relationships and driving better outcomes.

You'll lead engineering investigations, root cause analysis, scope of work, review technical solutions, assess risk and identify opportunities to improve the way critical assets are managed and maintained.

You'll also have the opportunity to develop business cases and present improvement initiatives directly to the client, making this an excellent role for engineers who enjoy influencing decisions and seeing their ideas implemented.

The contract is continuing to evolve, creating ongoing opportunities for growth, development and future progression.

UGL has a strong focus on upskilling its people, giving you the chance to broaden your experience and build a long-term career within the Defence business.

Why consider this opportunity?

  • Opportunity to influence asset and process improvement initiatives from concept through to implementation.
  • Strong focus on employee development, succession planning and internal progression.
  • Exposure to operations, maintenance, projects and asset management within a highly regulated environment.
  • Well suited to candidates from Defence, oil & gas, fuel terminals, petrochemical industries.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in project engineering, operations engineering or asset management environments.
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and manage competing priorities.
