Production Manager – Timber Manufacturing
UBEECO Packaging Solutions is seeking an accomplished Production Manager to lead our growing timber manufacturing operation and play a key role in shaping the next stage of our business.
UBEECO is a proudly Australian industrial packaging manufacturer, supplying tailored timber crates, pallets, cases and protective packaging solutions to clients across mining, defence, logistics and other industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
As Production Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing and assembly departments.
Lead, support and manage a team of approximately 30 employees, ensuring productivity and quality standards are maintained.
Work closely with Production Planning to review work orders, schedules and inventory requirements.
Monitor production schedules and ensure work orders are completed within agreed timeframes.
Manage labour efficiency, workflow and departmental costs.
Ensure materials, machinery and consumables are available to keep production running smoothly.
Monitor quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Identify opportunities to improve production processes, reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Assist with employee inductions, on-the-job training and ongoing performance management.
Conduct regular toolbox meetings and maintain a strong focus on workplace safety.
Manage general administration duties, including employee timekeeping and stocktakes.
Ensure all work is carried out in line with workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures.
Skills & Experience
To be considered for this position, you will ideally have:
Solid experience working within a manufacturing environment.
Ideally at least 5 years experience in a supervisory or production management role.
Previous experience leading and managing a team within a manufacturing environment.
A good understanding of production planning, scheduling and manufacturing processes.
Strong communication and people management skills.
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet production deadlines.
Good problem-solving skills and a practical approach to improving processes.
Strong attention to detail, particularly around quality and safety.

We’re looking for a hands‑on production leader who knows manufacturing, understands people and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.
You’ll be visible on the factory floor, working closely with the team, keeping production moving and stepping in when challenges arise. You’ll bring confidence, sound judgement and a practical approach to leading people and managing day-to-day operations.
