Join an established, profitable Australian retailer that has been trading for more than a decade and has grown from an online start-up into a network of showrooms across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. Furniture and homewares are the focus, with a strong emphasis on quality products at accessible price points and a loyal, growing customer base. The business is owner-led, the owners are closely involved, and further store openings are planned. It's a collaborative environment where good ideas are welcomed and people are given room to grow.

THE ROLE

This is a genuine stepping stone for a high-performing sales consultant who is ready to lead. Reporting to the Store Manager, you'll be the go-to person on the showroom floor, setting the pace through your own results while lifting the people around you. You'll stay hands-on with customers and gain real exposure to commercial decision-making, without the formal people management responsibilities that come with a manager role.

Day-to-Day

  • Deliver your own sales targets and set the standard for the team
  • Coach consultants on the floor, sharing product knowledge and sales techniques
  • Welcome and support new starters through their first shifts
  • Be the first point of contact for customer questions and concerns, escalating complex matters to the Store Manager
  • Keep the customer journey consistent from first conversation through to after-sales follow-up
  • Give the Store Manager regular updates on sales, team observations and customer feedback
  • Help with opening and closing, order accuracy, and showroom presentation, pricing and signage

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Proven track record as a high-performing sales consultant, ideally in furniture or homewares retail
  • Experience in interior design or real estate will also be well regarded, given the shared focus on understanding space, lifestyle and client needs
  • Natural ability to build rapport, ask the right questions and guide customers through a considered, higher-value purchase
  • Confidence in supporting and coaching your peers, and leading by example
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Polished presentation and a reliable approach
  • Availability for weekends and peak trading periods

COMPANY PERKS

  • A rewarding, performance-based bonus structure that recognises strong results
  • A clearly defined development pathway into store management
  • Exposure to leadership and commercial decisions in a supportive team environment
  • Work for a profitable, growing business with new stores planned
  • Direct access to owners who are passionate about the product and the people
