Trupanion is a pet insurance company established by vet industry professionals; it is rapidly expanding its reach, disrupting the pet insurance industry with its approach, to provide an exceptional experience for pet owners and vet teams. You will love advocating for a product and service you can be truly proud of.
As a Trupanion Vet Hospital Business Partner, you will serve as a pivotal link between Trupanion and veterinary hospitals. No day will ever be the same. Every day you'll be out there (Mon - Fri), working directly with vet teams, not stuck behind a desk in an office. Your job will be to visit vet clinics across your territory, growing relationships with established partners and introducing yourself to new ones, bringing them on board to grow the number of insured pets in every clinic under your care.
The territory covers Sydney CBD, the Eastern Suburbs and everything north of the harbour bridge up to the Central Coast. As a result, we're looking for someone who lives within the area so that you're not driving for a long time just to reach your territory.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Be out there, every day, Monday - Friday, on the road (no interstate or overnight regional travel required as part of the day-to-day role).
- This is a sales role. But we don't want you to be a traditional sales rep - this is NOT transactional selling based on orders taken, supported by promotions and discounts. You ARE selling the vision of how more insured pets are better for clinics and how this can be achieved by becoming a Trupanion Partner.
- You'll be establishing trust, demonstrating that you understand their business and building relationships.
- You'll plan ahead to map out where you are going and make appointments with the decision makers in each clinic. This job is 1 part admin - 4 parts action! We want you in as many vet clinics as possible, every day.
- Get past the gatekeepers to secure meetings with the decision makers in the vet clinic.
- Engage with those leaders to ensure that everyone in their clinic understands that more insured pets are better for them and the animals they care for.
- Change behaviours so that everyone in the clinic is happy to discuss pet insurance with their customers.
- Give presentations and training sessions to educate clinic staff on Trupanion’s offering. Support them on the journey to making discussions around pet insurance a habit so they can increase the number of insured pets.
- Structure your days to make sure you are spending enough time with your clients and that you are adding value every time you see them.
- Gather and report feedback from clinics to help shape Trupanion’s strategies and services.
Skills, Attributes and Experience:
- You're a self-starter with an entrepreneurial drive for a growth-minded organisation.
- You're a planner. You think 3 - 4 weeks ahead filling your diary with appointments with your clients.
- You follow up. You have a customer centric approach and follow up meetings with any requests made from your clients.
- You're a high energy person who wants to get out from behind your desk and hit the road every day visiting your clients.
- You have B2B experience working directly with customers in an account management or sales role, with an aptitude for building and maintaining relationships.
- You're a people person, a chameleon, you can think on your feet - ready to adapt and win people over.
- You're an animal lover.
- Advantage if your experience includes work in the veterinary/animal health industry and experience working with HubSpot.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive with preferred exposure to HubSpot & SharePoint.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the region.
- You're willing to spend your first week away from home in beautiful Port Macquarie, undergoing a week of training to get you up and running.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
- Pet Insurance for 2 of your furry friends.
- Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
- This isn't just another job – it's a rare opportunity to turn your passion for animals into a rewarding career with a company that will treat you like part of the family.
