You’re someone who wants to create outcomes that have a real impact on the people of NSW. This is your opportunity to broaden your experience and perspectives, step out of the confines of a standard project role and expand your scope to work with an interconnected ecosystem of industry professionals.

In this role, you'll:

  • Work as part of a high-performing team within Transport for NSW's Complex Development Services function, delivering expert planning assessment and advice on major developments, infrastructure projects and complex planning proposals that shape the future of the state.
  • Assess projects and other significant developments, while applying your technical expertise to provide planning, transport and infrastructure advice that supports sustainable growth across NSW.
  • Undertake planning outcomes, broker stakeholder engagement and build collaborative solutions that balance development objectives with the long-term protection and performance of the state's transport network.
  • Navigate competing priorities, statutory requirements and infrastructure challenges while contributing to projects of significant strategic importance for NSW.

About you

Your stakeholder engagement and planning expertise, formed across statutory planning, transport planning, urban planning, civil engineering, infrastructure delivery or related sectors, will see you excel in undertaking complex development assessments and delivering high-quality planning advice on major projects. You bring the technical capability to assess transport and infrastructure impacts, combined with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, influence outcomes and manage competing stakeholder interests to deliver practical and effective solutions. You're skilled at building strong relationships, translating complex technical matters into clear advice and fostering collaboration across government, industry and community stakeholders. You'll have experience managing complex workloads and driving outcomes in environments where strategic thinking, sound judgement and effective communication are critical to success. Experience in development assessment, integrated land use and transport planning, or major infrastructure and development projects will be highly regarded.

This role can be based from any approved Transport workplace locations across NSW. This role may require you to work from remote locations away from your home base to support Transport initiatives or projects.

Transport for NSW provides a safe, integrated, and efficient transport system. We connect people, communities and industry every day. Our workforce is as diverse as the community we serve.
