Guided by the values of Empathy, Integrity and Collaboration, the organisation places a strong emphasis on child safety, inclusion and cultural safety, particularly in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.

About the Role

As a Kin Care Practitioner within the Partners in Foster Care team, you will play an important role in identifying, assessing and supporting suitable kinship care arrangements for children and young people.

  • Maintaining accurate case documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and positive outcomes across the service.

About You

We're interested in hearing from professionals at different stages of their careers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children, young people and families.

Whether you're building your career in Child Protection, Family Services or the broader Human Services sector and are looking for an opportunity to develop your skills within the Foster and Kinship Care space, or you're an experienced practitioner looking to bring your knowledge, experience and expertise to an established team, we'd love to hear from you.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Experience working within Child Protection, Foster Care, Kinship Care or a related Human Services environment.
  • A Diploma-level qualification or higher in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work or a related discipline.
  • An understanding of the Child Protection Act and relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Strong assessment, case management and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • A commitment to cultural safety and working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities.
  • Flexibility to meet operational requirements, including participation in an on-call roster.
