We're currently seeking an experienced OOHC Practitioner to join a supportive team, working across Kinship First Supports and Foster Care.

The primary focus of this role will be supporting the Kinship First Supports program, undertaking Part B assessments for new kinship placements, while also providing support to the Foster Care team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in Child Protection, Kinship Care or Foster Care who can hit the ground running and is looking for a potentially longer-term opportunity.

The opportunity

  • $66.79- $69 per hour.
  • Sunshine location with 2 days WFH per week.
  • Availability required over the Christmas period (excluding public holidays).

Key responsibilities

  • Undertaking Part B assessments for new kinship placements.
  • Conducting outreach and gathering relevant information to inform assessments.
  • Completing comprehensive written assessment reports.
  • Supporting the Foster Care team with carer support and duty responsibilities.
  • Participating in the Foster Care duty roster, including one week of on-call duties every four weeks.
  • Responding to relevant duty enquiries and providing general operational support to the team.

About you

We're looking for an experienced practitioner who can confidently work across Kinship First Supports and Foster Care.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Previous experience within Child Protection, with an understanding of Part B assessments and kinship placements.
  • Experience in Foster Care, Kinship Care or Intensive Family Support (IFS).
  • Strong assessment, report writing and case management skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and undertake outreach.
  • Confidence supporting carers and responding to duty requirements.
  • Availability to work over the Christmas period (excluding public holidays).

Experience in Child Protection would be highly regarded, particularly given the familiarity with assessment processes and kinship placement requirements. Practitioners from Foster Care or IFS backgrounds with transferable skills will also be considered.
