Director Originations - Corporate Asset Finance
Company:Is a global banking institution with a 50+ year operating history in the Australian market and an strong appetite to grow their corporate asset finance market share following a series of record years of performance.
The specific focus is equipment finance, where you will be providing funding for the corporate CAPEX cycle to fund assets themselves, or release working capital tied up in such assets.
Opportunity:With a Bank balance sheet and strong appetite to grow from a series of record years. This role will fund larger corporate CAPEX transactions in a market dominated by small lenders who can't play in this space. Even banks have become building societies, requiring cross-collateralized property security to fund equipment CAPEX.
Role:This area has been the highest performing part of the business as they built out the direct equipment finance team from the broader finance business. Historically they have relied on OEM partnerships and dealer networks to originate new volume, but after 50 years they had already dealt with most of Corporate Australia and New Zealand in Ag, Earthmoving, Mining, Transport, Industrial, Technology, Healthcare, Green energy etc...
A number of years ago they then pivoted to use that customer network to provide funding limits to those corporates directly, in order to fund the customer's full CAPEX cycle and not just the part related to the specific OEM provider. This has been the area of record growth and is now the biggest part of the company.
This role is a hybrid role, ideally based in Melbourne or Brisbane and is originating with Corporate Australia for EF deals typically: $5MM-$10MM upto $100MM-$200MM. Not that they have any limits....
Requirements:I will be expecting interested parties to be able to show the following sort of profile:
- Origination experience with large corporates for equipment CAPEX related funding facilities
- Structuring experience to taylor facilities to ideal customer needs and their creditworthiness
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in identifying market niches and execute on those targets based from your home market in Melbourne or Brisbane
- A background in credit risk to structure and present well reasoned credit proposals
