Total Mine Solutions has provided engineering, field maintenance and labour hire to the resources industry since 2010. We’re a Queensland company with an ongoing contract to supply maintenance trades to one of the largest coal operations in the Bowen Basin. Our fitters and auto electricians work embedded in the owner’s maintenance teams, and they’ve been there for years.
We’re not a big recruitment agency. When you ring, you get Matthew or Chelsea, the people who actually run the business and decide who gets placed. If something isn’t working, you talk to us and we sort it.
The roles include:
- Heavy diesel fitters and auto electricians across three areas:
- Ancillary fleet: CAT and Komatsu trucks, graders, water carts and support gear. Permanent, long term roster positions.
- Service bay: the site’s road registered fleet. Kenworth, Isuzu and Volvo highway trucks, plus light vehicles and ancillary equipment through the workshop.
- Relief and shutdowns: holiday cover, short gaps and shutdown crews across both areas. Good if you’ve got your own ABN and want to pick your swings.
Most of this work is long term and ongoing. These are owner’s team positions, so you work to site maintenance plans with site tooling, site standards and a proper workshop behind you.
Roster, location and accommodation:
- Even time rosters: 7/7 day shift only, or 6/6 rotating day and night shift.
- DIDO and FIFO options, with accommodation and meals included.
- Engage on your own ABN or as PAYG, whichever suits you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Scheduled servicing, inspections and component change outs on CAT and Komatsu mobile plant.
- Maintenance and repairs on Kenworth, Isuzu and Volvo highway trucks in the service bay.
- Auto electricians: fault finding and repair of electrical systems, wiring and harnesses, lighting, charging and starting systems across the same fleet.
- Breakdown response and defect rectification.
- Working to site maintenance plans and safety systems, completing job cards and prestarts.
What you’ll need:
- Trade qualification as a heavy diesel fitter, plant mechanic or auto electrician.
- Highly regarded: current BMA inductions and site experience, current Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical, and time on CAT or Komatsu fleet. None of the above are essential. If you’re the right tradesperson, we’ll help you get what’s missing.
Who this suits:
- Fitters and auto electricians who want a long term seat on a stable roster, not a different site every month.
- Tradespeople on their own ABN who want relief and shutdown work they can fit around other commitments.
- Anyone who’s done the agency run around and wants to deal with the people who actually make the decisions.
What’s on offer:
- Industry leading rates: $81.00 to $107.38 per hour PAYG plus super, depending on classification (Level 2 or Level 3) and shift. Night shift and weekends pay more.
- Subcontractor option from $95 per hour ex GST day shift, with loadings for nights and weekends.
- Accommodation and meals included for DIDO and FIFO.
- Salary sacrifice options.
- Long term, relief and permanent options, and the flexibility to move between them as your life changes.
- A direct line to the people making the decisions.
