As a Chef, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes to our customers.
- Understanding flavours and cooking techniques, both authentic and modern.
- Creating signature dishes to complement our amazing venue.
- Overseeing kitchen operations such as quality control, stock order, and staff training.
The main duties are as follows:
- Plan and create innovative and diverse menus that cater to a wide range of tastes and dietary needs.
- Provide daily guidance, coordination, and supervision for the kitchen staff and juniors.
- Develop recipes and trial various presentation styles whilst maintaining signature flavours, freshness, and nutritive value.
- Plan daily menus and specials, ensuring the presentation is of the highest order.
- Quality control the freshness of food and ingredients.
- Identify and respond to industry trends as well as local competition.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
- Manage stock orders, stock control, and food circulation to maximize their lifespan.
- Train and lead subordinates on daily tasks and provide mentorship as required.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene standards and have the ability to explain to others.
Successful candidates will be on an annual salary of $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation. The minimum requirement is Certificate IV in a Culinary field, or higher, and industry experience.
